The ideal amount

The team here at Benfatto Nutrition often get asked what is the ideal amount of time someone should spend a day training. Truth be told… there is no real answer to that question this is because everybody is different and so are their training abilities. For many athletes a training routine of 45 minutes a day over 5 days is ideal.  If you are currently not active at all, it may be daunting to start out with 45 minutes a day of training, five days a week. So when you begin your very own training routine start with a shorter, less-intense bout of training, and gradually increase the amount of time spent training until you can reach or exceed this goal. This ‘start slow, build up over time’ technique applies to everyone, but it’s especially true for older adults, since starting slowly can help lower the risk of injury—and can make exercise more enjoyable.
